The message sent to vehicle owners states that Tesla is updating the gaming computer in your Model X, which means your vehicle will no longer be able to play Steam games. All other entertainment and app functions are unaffected.”
Steam , introduced in 2022, enabled Tesla drivers to enjoy gaming on the platform while their vehicles were parked or charging. The system utilized in Tesla’s infotainment screens delivers a level of performance that can be compared to that of the PlayStation 5. As a result, running major productions like Cyberpunk 2077 through the Steam application in the vehicles is a breeze.
However, it has been reported that the update in question will not have any impact on owners of older vehicles. The change is specifically limited to the new Model S and Model X. Tesla reported a solid profit of $1.1 billion in the first quarter of 2024, showing a 55 percent decrease compared to the previous year. The company’s revenue experienced a 9 percent decline compared to the same period last year, amounting to a total of 21 billion dollars.
